Christmas tree ornament

The Bagworm moth (Thyridopteryx ephemeraeformis) likes Eastern Red Cedars. They remind me of Christmas tree ornaments. I know most people don’t want them, but with the insect population decreasing so rapidly, I am not one to kill them. The ones I see around my place have not caused any damage. And well, it is nature. But if you must, please hand pick them off instead of using pesticide.

Here is another Bagworm moth (Psychidae) using the willow tree. It could be the same species as above. The cocoon is really tough you will find if you decide you want to see what is in it.  Pretty cool I think.
Crab spider on barbwire.
Coralberry (Symphoricarpos orbiculatus).

Keep looking!
