Ft. Richardson SP

Ft. Richardson State Park has been beckoning me to go for a longer visit for sometime. Well for the next few days we are going to do just that. πŸ™‚

We arrived about 4pm, Wednesday. So with everything set up in the campsite I had just enough time to go for a little exploring before it got dark.
Parts of Lost Creek has some water! So maybe not all is lost. LOL.
Indeed the rocky ravines are pretty cool!
You probably will be seeing a lot of rock photos while we are here. This one’s rounded edges almost doesn’t look natural. I wondered how it had formed.
A rock creature staring back at me. πŸ˜‰
Oh if it didn’t have a crack it would have been the perfect bird bath.

A happy rock face! Well the rocks certainly make me have a happy face too. πŸ˜‰ Love’em!

It going to be a lot of fun here at Ft. Richardson State Park. I will lead a walk on Monday, the 18th from 1pm to 3pm if you would like to join me then. Let me know if you plan to come please. Meet at the park office. There is an entrance fee of $4.

  1. That’s a beautiful park. Have a wonderful time as i know you will. Can’t wait to see all the pics you will send.

  2. That last face was really a good one with the big nose and big chin.
We had a quick day visit there when Paul was younger and always meant to go camping there. Never did so I will enjoy your tour. I remember seeing the old fort and then biking a trail that went towards town. But a creek by the campsites had watercress in it and was the first place I had seen that growing wild.

    1. If you ever decide to go camping here let me know. 😊 I have not walked the trail you spoke about before. But it is on the list in the next couple of days. We did the Prickly Pear trail yesterday. Some photos from it tonight.

  3. Love all those rocks!
Enjoyed the butterfly video – guess it’s a good thing that us humans don’t taste with our feet. πŸ˜‰
