A Dose of Sunshine

So after working on the computer yesterday morning, I needed my afternoon fix of sunshine time. So I headed to the grasslands. ๐Ÿ™‚

The mosses were shining beautiful green.

Hello! While I was down there looking on the ground a Daddy Longlegs climbed aboard!

As it tiptoed away I looked for hitchhiker mites on it. Nope none that day. However keep you eyes out for mites that will sometimes hitch a ride.

The winter season is perfect for lichens and mosses hunting. This Perforated Ruffle Lichen (Parmotrema perforatum) was begging me to look. ๐Ÿ˜‰
A Shield lichen (Punctellia).

Indeed I hear the Peg lichens (Cladonia) calling me.

The Goldeye Lichen or Slender Orange-bush (Teloschistes exilis) is always a standout!

I am certainly looking forward to the winter season of lichens, mosses and all the treasures that nature has to offer!
