A Damp Day
We did not get a lot of rain (only .07″) in our rain bucket at home. Regardless of the weather today, we had planned a road trip to Lake Lavon in Collin County.
It was a great damp day and we accomplished our mission to scope out the perfect camping spot for the spring. Now y’all know that the spring will have some some posts from Lake Lavon. π

The fall leaf color along the roads is awesome. So beautiful. I wondered if that was poison ivy – so red.
So what part of Lavon were you on? I have been around lots of it for horseback riding and retriever dog trials, dating back to the 80’s even. East side or west side, north of 455 or south or ?
And 2 caracaras on my old stomping grounds! Wow!
We have had non stop drizzle down here too. A couple hours ago it read .06″ but that is enough to make things grow and wildflower seeds to sprout. But prevent erosion like the big rains do. We are pretty saturated even with this small amount.
Kathy, I thought about you as we drove on 455. And the wonderful times I had with you. We looked south of 380 at the Clear Lake park. I am looking forward to exploring some of the trails. I bet there will be interesting and cool stuff to find like you found at Legacy. π
Great pics as always but the clouds were awesome. Maybe Iβm just fond of cloudsπ
Me too fond of clouds. π
The fall color is stunning this year! I’ve never seen poison ivy so consistently and beautifully such a deep red. I haven’t been to Lake Lavon in many years – I’ll be very interested in your camping reports.
