Indeed I am glad the survey is over. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy doing it. However getting up so early…well I am glad it is done. 😉
First survey point at 6:29am. No quail.
Second survey point at 6:51am. Three Bobwhites calling!
Third survey point at 7:13am. One more calling! We had one more call on the fifth stop. A good conclusion for the survey with five calling Bobwhites on Friday.
We were almost back at the house when we saw a snake in the road. Definitely had to make a stop!
Sadly it had been run over. However to make lemonade so to speak here was an opportunity for closeups.
Snakes are beautiful. Too bad folks run over them just for fun or because they don’t like them.
