Over in Fannin County

For the next few days my posts will be from Bonham SP and the Caddo NG. I really love coming here to see new plants and critters.

After arriving yesterday, we headed out on the Gnarly Root trail. The coneflowers (Echinacea) were blooming!
Wild Blue Indigo (Baptisia australis) was still going strong!
Philadelphia Fleabane (Erigeron philadelphicus)!

This fungus looked like stalactites curtains draping down.

Perhaps a beetle larva. So pretty!
Raccoon tracks left in the soggy trail!

A tiny orbweaver type spider that builds a ring at the center of its web.

The park (Bonham SP) has several nest boxes. This one had eight adorable babies. Won’t be long before they test their wings. πŸ™‚

The Gnarly Root Trail really was gnarly. LOL

We are going to have a wonderful adventure here this week!

Keep looking!

The more you know, the more you see and the more you see, the more you know.

  1. Love the pile of chickadees. We now have a second house wren interested in our nest box so fingers crossed for a pile here too!

    1. But then they would have to change the name of the trail 🀣 Actually there is some gravel on the trail between certain sections on the trail.
