Lichens, moss, and beetle

More from Beavers Bend State Park…

This moss was awesome!

It was like giant pine trees!

Gracie and Briar enjoyed the park too!

This has several different Cladonia lichens!

This is Usnea strigosa, another Fruticose lichen (the shrub-like lichens).

Claire and I decided to draw. Look, I drew a fly LOL!

Bess Beetle (Odontotaenius disjunctus) likes rotten wood. This one had brown mites around the horn. A very nice beetle to find and a new one for me!
Just a cool beetle! When Claire picked it up, it made raspy kissy noises.

Keep looking!

  1. I love your drawing and the lichens are just wonderful as always. Looks like you had a great time.

  2. It was the biggest moss I have seen. Nothing like that around here that I have seen. Pretty cool and thanks!
