As we headed down into the pond drainage ditch…the Dog Lichen or Pelt Lichen(Peltigera) was spotted! So lucky to have another great find for the grasslands. So many treasures to be discovered. Keep looking!

Slime mold
I never realized or thought about how many slime molds(myxomycetes) are around us. Of course, it is hard not to miss the tapioca slime mold like I have shown y’all before. And you have probably seen the dog vomit/scramble eggs slime mold, but after watching a presentation at BRIT brown bag lecture by Ashley Bordelon…

Fungi is everywhere. And some are growing really large. Jeanne had one that was ten inches across at her house. I have some eight inchers that look a bit like pancakes. Keep looking!
