Did You Get Out?

How many of you got out today? Certainly the roads are clear and the temp is not half bad. We made it up to 52F!

Christy was one person that got outside today. She noticed the interesting pattern on the sand/limestone area on her trail.
A close look! Mud crystals!
Another great find was her vireo nest she found in her horse pasture. Notice the lichen they used. And thanks Christy for sharing your finds today!
Last night the moon was 96% full. And Mister Moon provided light for the trees to casted their shadows!
Trees still casting shadows this morning. Indeed the sun beams were fantastic on the snow between the shadows at sunrise!

As the snow melted on the trees above, the droplets dimpled the snow.

And the interesting part was as the snow melted further around the concave dimples, it left the outer edges to melt last. So then it made little cups.
Only the treads of a boot remained. Hmmm, maybe it could be used in the Rorschach inkblot test?
A pig giving a lecture to their students. LOL.

Remember the larking snow opossum from Snow Friends? Indeed I believe this is evidence that they were out last night. 😉

The snow is melting fast now. And soon it will be gone. Certainly was fun while it lasted!

  1. Pig teaching class 😄. Only you would ever see that but now i see it too. Love the critter tracks in the snow.

  2. The moonlight has been wonderful on what is left of the snow – mostly gone now.
I don’t see a pig – looks like a long bearded man sitting on a stump facing all his students to me.
