A Wheel Bug (Arilus cristatus) nymph on Russel’s Henbit/Redpurple Beebalm (Monarda russeliana)!
The Giant Bark Aphid (Longistigma caryae) was semi-cooperative. It did not fly away and I was able to gently grab its wings to re-position it on my leg for the shot. And yes it was giant at almost a centimeter (0.39″)
A tiny red cup fungus!
Pulling it up to see what it was growing on, hmmmm it looked like a tiny fairy pipe. 😉

Little Wood Satyr (Megisto cymela) was a hard one to shoot as it was very bouncy.

So many vultures! Interesting about the difference btwn old world and new world vultures- nose vs eyesight. Just wish they weren’t so doggone stinky!
