Top part of trail- part 6

New terrain and new flowers were ahead of us after leaving the mesa.

Last view from the mesa towards the west.
Researchers have bat sonar equipment set up in the park.

Indeed it was fantastic how many patches of Adders-tongue fern (Ophioglossum engelmannii) we came across. So thick!

A first for me, Texas Ragwort (Senecio ampullaceus) on the maroon trail!

Texas Toad-flax (Nuttallanthus texanus)!

Phlox pilosa!

You got to love the crustose lichens!
Storks-bill or Heronbill (Erodium texanum) was just starting to bloom!
Burnt rocks in a possible midden.
Indian Paintbrush (Castilleja indivisa) and Pink Verbena!

Last stop and last bare spot to look for Tiny Tim before a steep trail.

Indeed, this park is wonderful! However, still no Tiny Tim.

Keep looking!
