A Wasp and an Insect, a Cardinal, a Phoebe, a Skunk, and a Shadow

I know I said more concretions today, but I changed my mind. 🙂 Maybe the concretions will be ready tomorrow.

The wasps and insects are regular visitors to the old well house. This was two different times and I edited them together into one mp4.

The cardinal visitor was certainly a surprise!

A Eastern Phoebe took a fly-through!

However, it was not surprising to see a skunk. Furthermore, a skunk came back several times. We decided to board up the hole that it was using.

The shadow! We have seen the shadows several times now. Just keeping our fingers crossed! Additionally, a wren and other insects have gone in too.

The parents (?) seem to be hanging out. And they have come multiple times landing on the roof of the well house as seen above.

Six bluebird eggs! This was the second lady’s nest. The first lady has laid five eggs. The third lady was just getting started with one egg. So we have three nest boxes with families getting started. Babies, yippee!

A male Northern Harrier was still here this afternoon. In other exciting bird news a few days ago, I saw two Crested Caracaras in a chase. Crazy! So perhaps they are here to be a breeding pair here??

The annual Indian Paintbrushes (Castilleja indivisa) have started to bloom! The actual flowers are very tiny and are hidden down in the colorful bracts!
