Rainbow meow

Whoa, I feel we got lucky today with 1.16″ so far! On top of that, three of the four Gracie walks, I had to use the umbrella. My lucky non-umbrella walk was the afternoon walk. At that point, the clouds almost parted, but not quite.

The rain brings out extra smells for Gracie!

Our maximum wind was 41 mph!

A few leaves were plastered in different places. 😉

Multiple puddles had the fall foliage scattered about.

A sparkly Green June Beetle caught my eye as we walked along.

Here I picked up this stick to look at the lichens and found an empty cocoon. No idea what lived there.

Here was the find of the day. It was like a rainbow meow! 🙂 It is the White-streaked Prominent (Ianassa lignicolor)! So it was climbing up the Post Oak where it will spend the night for foraging. So it probably was heading for an early start since the sky was dark (maybe).

Ok, you have guessed it by now, the rainbow cat came home with me. LOL And I wrecked its foraging plans. However, there will be no predators for it to worry about for now.

So awesome!

Of course after each walk today, a wet Gracie. LOL.

(We all knew that 🙂 And I had a nuthatch in the yard today.

Keep looking!
