Wonderful Rain

Wasn’t the rain just fabulous yesterday! I hope everyone got some. Of course, Gracie and I did not let the rain keep us from our walks. Here’s what we found!

Drips on the Live Oak and the Live Oak gall. Sure makes everyone’s color shine, eh!

The Chinquapin Oak’s acorn was dripping too!

The rain brings out the browns in the Greeneyes’ seed head.

The coyote did not see me at first, but then the after-burners kicked on when he did!

Poison Ivy is a fall favorite color of mine!

The wind had knocked a branch down off the Common Persimmon just for me. πŸ˜‰ And one was ripe. Yum!

Gracie likes the persimmons too.

A Ganoderma fungus was at the base of a stump. Looks like an old masterpiece painting’s canvas.

Someone had cached a few pecans!

The Red Paper Wasps were dry in the nest box!

The Obscure Bird Grasshopper (Schistocerca obscura) must have been a tad chilly to let me get close!

As always, it was a splendid rainy day for a walk with Gracie!

Keep looking!

    1. Wow,Alan. You are winner with the most rain. We appear to be living in a hole that gets less rain. Everyone that I know of had gotten more than us (.65”). πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

  1. Awesome video of the coyote.
I am the loser. We did not get any of that rain down here.
Good chance in the morning (Friday), I hope.

    1. Thanks! I was surprised he didn’t see me sooner. Gracie had already gone by and was ahead of me.
