Indeed it is feeling more like summer everyday! At least the wind keeps it pleasant enough.

We have had the pleasure of this gal or guy crossing our driveway now for the past week or so in the early morning. I found this song on uTube called Dead Skunk. I hope this one doesn’t meet the same fate like in the song.

Indeed you never know where you will find wildlife. This hopper snuck indoors with me.

Malformed Puffball!

Crossing our path, the Three-toed Box Turtle! She is a beauty!

Gracie was happy to take a dip on this afternoon’s walk!

Next to the pond, we have a patch of blackberries growing! And nearby, several female Widow Skimmers were perching!

Can you find the parent? The baby can not be seen yet. When I looked at photo in the bright sunlight, I couldn’t find it.

The parent definitely startled me when it jumped up to the roof!

After the parent went to the top, the nestling moved to better spot for a photo. It certainly is getting some feathers now at 47 days old.

Baby moved again and only the shadow of the parent was left in the view! I wondered if I had interrupted a mid-afternoon meal? At this stage in the nestling’s life, the parents will be feeding it two to four times daily.

The creative way to pay for wildlife recovery

Keep looking!

The more you know, the more you see and the more you see, the more you know.

  1. Love the skunk song. Good banjo too. That leafhopper looks like a tiny rock. And love keeping up with the baby. Thanks
