Last Meridian State Park post

What a wonderful day with nine nature loving friends! And Happy Birthday again Jeff. I wish you the best in the year ahead!

Sharp-eyed Bill spotted this group of Foxtail Cactus (Escobaria vivipara)! When they bloom, it will have vibrant pink flowers.

Kim found this fossil!

Suzanne pointed out the scat! She thought it could possibly be opossum scat. And that it looked to have eaten sumac berries.

I liked these bubbly rocks!

Crustose lichens!

UV light brings out the hidden colors! In this case, a hidden yellow eyed face LOL 😉

Alan examining the Lindheimer’s Silktassel (Garrya ovata). Jeff explain to us this special tree is only found in five counties in Texas. It blooms in April to May. Maybe a trip back?

Did the park employee leave this heart special for us? Share the love right!

Did the tree have an ouchy? (I found it this way).

Was the little tree not going to let the fallen tree go? A friend indeed!

A holey rock!

Wonderful lemon blueberry cupcakes for Jeff’s birthday! Yum and thanks to Kim and Ray!

As the French would say, that is the end of the De tour!
