Thry sure are – and fun to watch too
I tried to pull one out of the hole it was digging right after it started when I was a kid and could not. They sure have strong front feet and claws. As an adult i could usually get them out. Just to hold them and look closely. Love them.
I have never grabbed one before. Jim pulled out one trying to dig under our foundation once. And it certainly was handful!

I am not sure I heard the sound. Was it sort of a repeating huff noise?
It is kind of a huff sounds crossed with a heart beat sound.
