The Eyes have it…

Continuing on with the Tuesday’s outing with more treasures!

First treasure is one of my favorite slime molds! Actually I was surprised to see it with the lack of rain lately.

It is the Wasp’s Nest Slime Mold (Metatrichia)!

Here (if you did not remember from previous posts) is why it has the common name of Wasp’s Nest Slime Mold.

Another skull! And this is how we found it in this tree. The rushing water must have lodged it there. Does anyone remember rushing water? It certainly has been awhile.

Bottom view!

Somehow I forgot to take a side view. Did you figure out the type of skull? It is a raccoon!

A log eye LOL!

Beautiful brown deer scat.

We were not sure at first that was what it was, but after checking references and cutting it open, yep deer poo.

Uncertain of my obsession with log eyes, but here is another!

Maybe it is like looking into its soul. 🙂 Stay warm!

What is in an Ice Core?

Keep looking!

The more you know, the more you see and the more you see, the more you know.

  1. I love that slime mold. And you do know how to find critters in everything. I have a nice raccoon skull myself. Saw ice core article but not the other one. Gonna read now.
