Reese had to head back to office so Jeanne and I continued on but in a side ravine. This ravine had made the peninsula to get to “Frog Knob” narrower. It was definitely worth exploring!
As we turned to go up the ravine, a blackberry stalk caught my eye!
A hole in the bank! And it went back a long ways!
Who could resist exploring this ravine? Certainly not us!
The moss covered rock was a beauty. As we checked to see what kind of rock it was, we discovered it was very soft sandstone!
The clump of moss on the left was just as beautiful!
A mini alluvial fan beneath the tree!
Here in this close up of the above alluvial fan, I see a person with a elf hat. Ok, I have to squint to see it.
The water must have washed over this root, leaving the dirt on the underside!
