Running water

The water at the grotto was running yesterday. There is something about running water that is so soothing!

The grotto was awesome! We got a half inch rain about a week ago. We live fifteen minutes from the grotto, but the grotto could have gotten much more.

So many different kinds of crustose lichens!

A frosty or powdery layer on the upper thallus/cortex is pruina. It is typically made of calcium oxalter or dead cortical tissue. So the lichen in the middle is pruinose.

Another example in a closer view!

Multiple crustose lichens!

A closer view of the bigger lichen in the above photo!

Always looking under rocks, we found this spider. Really blends in!

Trees have such strong wills I would say. It seems nothing stops them, even rocks. Tomorrow, I will share the most exciting fossil find of the outing!

Keep looking!

The more you know, the more you see and the more you see, the more you know.
