Down to the woods

As the prairie sloped down, we headed in to the woods.

Many of the mulberry trees had these knots on them.

Cool grapevine sprung up and went two directions!

See where the moss is not growing among the moss? The grapevine had been ripped away from the tree.

Closer view!

A lone millipede was climbing the tree! Two legs per section makes it a millipede!

Berries of the Carolina Buckthorn!

Shelf fungus colors were bright from the dampness.

Brown mold formed near the ground around a hole. Wonder what lives in there?

The orange fungus is like a beacon in the woods! Not sure if this is a jelly fungus or not because it was not very jelly-like. However, it just may have not been wet enough. I should have dumped water to see, but I did not.

Such a pretty brown shelf fungus!

A wire remains.

Keep looking!

The more you know, the more you see and the more you see, the more you know.
