After the sun goes down, a whole new night crew shows up at Monahans!
Time for the night crew to make their appearance!Surprisingly to me, were these critters that came to the light after dark.This was the most colorful moth of the night and there were quite a few of them. It is the Beautiful Sparganothis (Sparganothis pulcherremanni)!Ten-lined June beetle (Polyphylla decemlineata) was a noisy one. It would flip itself upside down and make a lot noise righting itself. A Long-horned Flower Beetle!All of these photos were taken using a UV light. This was the most exciting event of the night when the scorpion caught the moth!

Love the long horned beetle. Havent seen one in a long time. That uv light almost makes the scorpion pretty.
I think it is pretty but makes the scorpion look not real. 😊
