More grasslands!

Continuing on with the grasslands outing.

Jumping spider!

Beavers present, but of course not when we can see them.

The pond was very still so the reflections were awesome.

Bright yellow crust fungus!

A jumping spider (Hentzia palmarum). The front legs are much thicker than the rest of the legs.

Hentzia palmarum liked to hide too.

Another spider taking shelter.

In this instance, I just thought the three buds were interesting looking.

A fuzzy gall on the oak.

Prairie Gaillardia (Gaillardia aestivalis) is still blooming!

Another speedy bug! This is the Spotted Pink Lady Beetle (Coleomegilla maculata – Coleomegilla maculata lengi).

How could someone call this pink? Maybe the larva is pinkish?

Keep looking!

The more you know, the more you see and the more you see, the more you know.
