No common name

Chrysolina auripennis is in the Leaf Beetles (Chrysomelidae) family. With so many beetles in the world it is not surprising that most do not have a common name.

I brought it inside for a photo shoot. It was about 8mm(3/8″).

Split-beard bluestem (Andropogon ternarius) and Little Bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium) often are found together. That old wind was sure blowing today.
