Yep on the Arkansas Yucca (Yucca arkansana). Additionally it was fun because as approached they all ran quickly down the leaves to hide from the big monster, me. LOL.
Spittle Bugs are back! There are many kinds and belong in the sub-order of True Hoppers (Auchenorrhyncha). Inside the spit, you will find at least one larva.
I love finding the spittle bug larvae, but feel guilty for disturbing them.
I hear you. I try to put them back. Someday I should see if once disturbed the rebuild in the same place.
Guess those bugs thought you were gonna eat them. Glad you have spiderworts.
It was neat to see the spiderwort in the neighbors field. Hope more show up.
Cool article about shadow bands! I’ve shared with other friends and coworkers who are going too!
👍🏼😊
So are set up to do those shadow bands? Would be really cool to capture those too – but so much else to see in such a short time!
Yes we will be and watching. Going to use a white posterboard to try to see. 🤞🏼
