As I walked out to the edge, I heard a soft clucking sound. She was a little bit shy but still talked to me.
The lake had go receded since last week. So now I could go further on the point. The ground was still solid and several tiny somethings was jumping all around. Really tiny frogs! Can you find the tiny frog? It was only about 1/4″ in size!
It was very hard to find with the camera. LOL.
Then I looked up and my new friend had come to see me. Furthermore I told her the frogs were not good eating. LOL.
She finally decided that I could continue on my own. :-!
My next stop was at the Common Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) hosting a Wheel Bug (Arilus cristatus)!
Turning a leaf over I found these little ones. At first I thought the white one was just some exuvia. But no!
With its little teeny red eyes I saw it move! It was alive! No idea what kind of critter it was.
The others I assumed were some kind of Lace Bug nymphs.
Then it started to sprinkle. However that was not going to stop me.
So I was hoping to find my sunglasses that I had lost last week. I had now gone half way on the trail I went last time. Still no sign of my sunglasses. More tomorrow…
Thats just what we need, to lose more national forests. I never could find the frog.
I think I saw the frog – just the eyes and nose visible?
Interesting shell story.
I still have yet to visit Windmill Lake. Maybe some time this year. I’m not sure I ever found the frog either.
That frog is sneaky!!
