Yesterday, Jeanne and I headed out to explore on the grasslands.
So I choose this particular place for a reason which I will show you in another post. 🙂 And it sure was a very nice prairie we thought!
Oh my! The beautiful Showy Prairie Clover (Dalea compacta) was among the plant community!
Don’t miss out on an up close look at the Showy Prairie Clover (Dalea compacta) tuffs of hairs!
The bumbles had their pollen basket full!
We saw American Bumble Bees and the Sonoran Bumble Bees (Bombus sonorus) like this one! All had their full baskets and none stayed long on a flower. Furthermore the fav food was the Showy Dalea! It was like playing tag. Just as I would reach one off they would fly to the next flower. LOL.
First yellow flower, a Tufted Flax (Linum imbricatum)! Five petals, small, and easily overlooked.
Another small yellow flower with five petals, the Nits n Lice (Hypericum drummondii)! Small like the Tufted Flax, but notice the petals. They look sorta like kid’s pinwheel, eh.
Sad sad about our parks
Very sad. 🙁
Cute yellow flowers!!
Touch the sky – what a wonderful way to express bat wing sensitivities.
