Can’t Stop Singing

Some of you had to go hide in the closet for tornados last night and early this morning. Luckily everyone I know missed the tornadic action. Though Jeanne did hear the freight train. Yikes that was too close! Glad everyone was safe and just got the rain. We ended up 2.05″ for the 24 hour period. Yeah!

Our bunny friend for Easter!
Nice to see the puddles! Trees were cut down for prairie restoration.
A Texas Dandelion (Pyrrhopappus grandiflorus) and reflection!
Looking down in the next puddle I noticed the sun.

Then I watched as the clouds moved over the sun. Pretty cool!

Normally when I get with a couple hundred feet of this pond, the frogs stop singing. But not today!

It was pretty windy.
We affectionally call this our swamp. It only holds water for a few days after a heavy rain.

The reflection of the cumulus clouds are the backdrop for more frogs singing their love songs. A glorious time to be a frog. However they better hurry because this pond will only hold water for a couple of days. 🙁

  1. Those puddle photo are really great – reflections seem make the sky and sun more easily visible. And those sea creatures are pretty cool too.
More rain later this week it seems – all the ponds will be full and the frogs will just keep on singin’.

  2. Been thinking about you and especially Jeanne all day. Glad everyone is okay, although it sounds like the lake came up in a huge hurry, Jeanne. I love pictures after the rain, with the reflections in the puddles and the air that just feels scrubbed. Hope you’ll share some of that rain with us this week. We only got a third of an inch this last event.
