Second Half

Second half of the morning at Wylie’s.

Birthday candles?
A new mistletoe on the trunk covered in lichens!
A root had grown through the hole.

A brown Gray Hairstreak who was very cooperative!
So I am not sure why a line of Prickly Pear Cactus (Opuntia) intrigues me. But it does. LOL.
Another interesting cactus.

The beautiful Red Admiral posed on the Elbowbush (Forestiera pubescens).

We concluded our day at Wylie’s without finding Jeanne’s target moss. However Jeanne still managed to collect about 20 bags. Maybe something will turn out to be extra special in those. Furthermore, it is important to document what we have now.

It was great to see Wylie’s property again. Thank you Wylie!

  1. That NISAR is really cool – amazing how they can see so much from so far away,
Just getting started on the moss ID – will take many days!

  2. I’m late catching up on the blog, but as always it was a pleasure to have you both out. Please come again, soon and often!
