Facing

A mostly dreary, windy, and cold day. On the bright side it could be colder like it was in Brookings, SD at -15F!

A momentarily bright spot at sunrise!
A pile of seedless fluff!
A Bewick’s Wren seemed to be playing with their food. They picked it up multiple times giving it a toss each time.
Finally they did eat a piece of whatever it was. Actually I had wondered if the food might not have been a frozen crane fly larva???

Most of you can relate to this. How hard it is to get a group to all be facing the camera, not having eyes shut and smiling.

Well, some don’t ever smile. However after many shots, at least they were facing me. LOL.
Certainly it was a good day for a hot beverage!

Hope those of you in southeast Texas survive the snow forecasted for your area tonight and tomorrow. 🤞🏼And it just pretty like it was here last week.

  1. The energetic birds are the worst to photograph. I’ve had a few of those where by the time the camera takes the pic they have flown and you have a blur. Had fun with Cedar Waxwings at the birdbath this week. I posted one on FB where the north wind blew its topknot forward and called it “bad hair day”. It made me chuckle looking at it. Orange crowned Warbler is really hard to get it to sit still long enough for a shot.

    1. The Ruby-crowned Kinglet is another in that group. And even harder to get the ruby part flared up. 🤷🏻‍♀️ makes it more sweet when you do get the shot. 😊
