The Last Trail

Our last trail to walk was the Fishing Rock Trail on The Point. It was across the Lake of the Arbuckles.

The first find and oh my this was cool! And there were two of them!

Furthermore, the Common Loons (foshi – bird) were much closer to the shore then this morning’s loons near the campsite!

Looks like it will be interesting!

Jim spotted the cocoon!

A nice size raft of Coots!

The seed pods of a Baptisia!

A big paper wasp (fushchanachik) nest!
We were at the end of the trail. So I assume the rock jetting out is the Fishing Rock.
The Lake of Arbuckles was quiet. In fact I only saw one boat on the lake the whole trip.

Of course I climbed down to the edge of the lake. LOL.
One of the interesting rocks (tulli) along the shore.
I thought the rock might want to swim. Well it sunk like a rock. šŸ˜‰ Hopefully it can hold its breath.
This rock took a second glance from me to realize that it wasn’t wood!
We called it day as we headed back.

Just FYI, the park brochure had said in the spring sometimes the trail could be partially under water. It was not that day.

And what a beautiful trail and sunset to end our trip at the Chickasaw NRA!

  1. Thatā€™s so cool about the loons. Cant remember if Iā€™ve ever seen one or not. Are they migratory? A beautiful park.
