To quote a Star Wars line, the force was strong with this one. That moss was calling my name. Come see me closer they said. We want to be in your post please.
Yesterday you saw this picture of me being drawn to the moss. Could I find a way to get to it? (Photo by Claire)
So I zoomed in with the phone to get a closer look.
Leaning over a bit I could see there was a ledge ten feet below the moss. Hmmm, if I crawled down it would only be a short fall verses hundreds of feet to the bottom. Well it looked that way. π Later I found the actually elevation was 1056ft at the lookout. The elevation below was 925ft. So a difference of 131ft.
At this point I had not seen the sign. Remember I hadn’t taken the steps down. And I really wanted to get close to that moss. π (Photo by Claire)
Maybe it was not a good idea. (Photo by Jim)
Ok, I could do this gripping on the rocks. (Photo by Jim)
Well, maybe not. Notice the vulture circling above.
Perhaps I should have noticed the sign?
Of course we all believe everything we see on the internet. (Photo by Jim)
It had been fun! LOL. And this was not an easy pose to hold. π (Photo by Jim)
As they say…don’t try this at home!
Thank you to the free open source software GIMP and to Claire and Jim for taking photos!
