Frosting Friday

Brrr, it was a mite cold this morning! 27F was our low!

With the 27F, the Frostweed finally was frosting! And on a Friday. Fun! Lots of f’s. LOL.
A stinkhorn (Phallus) had been toppled!

Looking down the stem!
A push-me-pull-me fungus gnats! Ok they were just mating. πŸ™‚ It seemed pretty private until I stuck the phone down there.

Then there were multiple of these Dung Beetles (Scarabaeinae) crawling under a stinkhorn.

A late Fall Aster (Symphyotrichum ericoides) blooming.

Here was a surprise, a Common Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) blooming!

The backside of a feather. I don’t know the species, but it could be a vulture, a crow, or a roadrunner. Definitely was not enough information to pick a species.

  1. I love to watch dung beetles. And that albatross is special. Sure hope her egg hatches and she’s able to raise it.
