Alien?

Ok, black Friday is over. Take a breath. Now get out there and renew your spirit!

Ok, I just had to investigate. Turned out to be a dead fuzzy caterpillar stuck on a leaf. The longish hairs suggested to me it was a Salt Marsh caterpillar.

Jeanne was drawn to this moss. Up close it looked like a flower in the Asteraceae family. πŸ™‚
Additionally nestled in with the moss were a tiny orange cup fungus!
The tiny finger fungus is always a fun find.

A few of the Common Persimmon (Diospyros virginiana) fruit was hanging on.

Yum it was perfect time for a trail snack!

The prairie was looking mighty fine!

Was it an alien or a puffball? LOL.

  1. Tried to key that moss but no luck yet – save the coordinates from the phone – will be a keeper! It’s really very pretty.
