We have only briefly stopped here before. Now the plan is to give it a real look.

On the walk after supper we hit our Payday! American White Pelicans sat on a sandbar in the lake.
The sun was setting at its usual pace. LOL.
It was beautiful!
The first of my reasons for choosing this park as I said was we never have camped here. The second was hoping to see the comet again. A jet contrail fooled me and we Snicker’d. 😂
We waited and were rewarded! Ok let’s go back to camp. Perhaps it will be high enough to see even with the trees.
Whoa! So not only could we see the comet with our eyes, the Milky Way was visible!!
Indeed we watched it for an hour and 40 minutes. Here it was only visible for another minute before disappearing below the horizon.
Almond Joy that we got another great view! Baby Ruth said it was a home run for us. Sweet! And how many candy bars did you notice…groan. ☺️
What a treat to be able to see the Milky Way! I forget how we can’t see what I once could when I was a kid, what I took for granted. It’s time I got away from city lights again.

It’s such a treat to see the Milky Way these days. And all the stars. I forget how many stars there are. Glad you’re there.
