Every day has the potential to learn something new. And that makes me happy!

Artifacts are always an interesting find. It was an cast iron artifact. And appeared to be off of some farm equipment. Perhaps even an old tractor wheel?

A smallish Wolf Spider (Lycosidae)! “Identification: Eight dark eyes of unequal size arranged in three rows, the first having four eyes (see this link for an illustration). The abdomen and the cephalothorax are usually as long as wide. The long legs have three microscopic claws at each tip.”


Now that I seen and ID’d a Pied Harvestmen (Libitioides sayi) last week, every Daddy Short-legs might be the Pied Harvestman like this one. They must be pretty common… just over looked by me forever. 🙂 In fact going back in my photos I found many examples. At least I was in the right family of Harvestmen (Opiliones).
