Passed the Bank People

The first part of the shore line consisted of the Bank People. They moved us along to see other good stuff. 🙂

Buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis) is a common perennial plant along wet areas like ponds and lakes. It is a magnet for the insects. Additionally ducks and other shorebirds consume the seeds.
Looking up there was a nice sized Rough Hedeoma (Hedeoma drummondii)!
Lucky for me there was a Hedeoma that was closer to the bottom of the bank.

Jeanne was ahead picking our route along the shore.
A brown damselfly could be mistaken for a root at first glance. 🙂
Since Jeanne was ahead she assured me that this was the Prickly Pear good side.
An easy spot to make our way back up the car.

Time to move on!

  1. I enjoy reading about dam removals. I hope it’s not too late to the salmon to rebound. The bald bus article is very hopeful too.

  2. Love the prickly pear hanging off the cliff. And we might as well just put everything in the trash if it’s not really going to be recycled😡
