Don’t Need To Go Far

As much as I like to explore new places, home always has much to offer.

So now is the time to watch for the Goatweed Leafwing cats on the Crotons. However on this day it was a Plant Bug (Miridae) turn to be found. 🙂
Sepals of a Croton, fuzzy and orange!

A dark out of place lump in the ragweed should always be investigated.
And to my delight, it was a mama Wolf Spider (Lycosidae) loaded down with her newly hatched spiderlings!
The bottom four eyes make her look sad. 🙂
The Texas Spiny hiding between a live Hackberry and snag.

Sometimes the hole in a snag is just a hole in a snag. At least for macro-sized critters. 😉

Finally at the end of the day the Blue Grosbeak paid a visit to our feeder! Yum!

Home is always full of nature’s treasures!

  1. We have a giant wolf spider living in our house. I would really like to put it outside but it evades me every time😄

  2. We have a young spiny lizard in the screened porch that has been too slippery to catch and release outside – hope he finds his own way out soon!

  3. Very interesting article about the Dolman of Menga. Those builders have achieved a form of immortality similar to Egyptians.
