We reached 109F here at our house today. Time for a cold front I think.
Now on with the first Shirley spot. Well, it was shady. So that was a good thing.
Usually I am drawn to the Illinois Bundleflower (Desmanthus illinoensis) when the seed pods turn brown. However, it was interesting to note them green as a little more plump.
Hungry! It looks like a claw. 🙂
Spotted!
The road is caving in. We reported this problem several years ago. Yet it was still not fixed.
Poison Ivy has some of the prettiest colors!
Very tall Tall Gaura (Oenothera filiformis syn Gaura longiflora)!
And then we turned to the sunny side and saw an even taller Tall Gaura!
Then I spotted on top a Split-eyed Owlfly (Ululodes)! Indeed I did not climb the plant to get the photo. It was easy to bend over the plant. And it didn’t harm the plant or the owlfly. Though once Jeanne released the plant, the owlfly flew off. LOL.
Sad about the pyramid. I think we’ve been there years ago.
Those are some really cool balanced rocks – almost looks impossible for some.
I had no idea Gaura could get that tall. The balanced rock article was great.
Wow your longifolia is tall!
