My calendar says it is time for several species to return. I have heard the Upland Sandpipers going overhead.
A Kestrel feather found by Miguel. This is North American smallest falcon! I have not seen them yet but this feather probably means they are back. However occasionally a pair will breed in North Texas. Thanks Miguel!
At our house the Garden Spiders (Argiope aurantia) are doing well!
In fact there are multiple places I have to duck or make a circle to not disturb them.
So I didn’t see her web and she got stuck on me. She scurried up the tree after I released her.
An Owlfly (Ascalaphidae family) for dinner!
A True Bug nymph (Heteroptera) was hiding under the leaf. Smart, it was getting hot. 😉
I’ll be on the lookout for kestrels here!
Love those garden spiders. Hope those babies make it thru the heat next week.
