Parts and Sang a Song

Another nice day! It even sprinkled on me for a moment in the afternoon. Maybe ten drops. LOL.

The back of immature Spur-throated grasshopper (Melanoplus)!
A wasp was in a heap, missing parts.
The back half of a stink bug. Love the color!

A male Widow Skimmer wing!
Up close it looked like a window of stain glass.
The Red-Headed Ash Borer (Neoclytus acuminatus – tentatively) seemed to be missing parts. Additionally its wings seemed underdeveloped. Besides ash trees (which we do not have) it likes other hardwoods.
All that was left from a slider egg.
Always the eye-catcher, a Fiery Searcher Caterpillar Hunter (Calosoma scrutator) elytron.
All I can say it was a green bee and the ants were certainly enjoying a meal!
Finally, while I sat at my computer a male Blue Grosbeak sang a song outside our window!
