Goodness what a rainy day, eh! Loved it! At press time we had gotten almost 2″!
Now back to more from Caddo NG last week.
Just like here in Wise County there was much standing water. The mosquitoes are loving it.
I was surprised to find the Great Coneflower (Rudbeckia maxima) in the woods. However, it must be getting enough sun. And maybe next week we will be lucky and find some blooming.
This big five incher guy reminded me of the heart urchin fossil.
Slowing falling to pieces.
Hmmm, I can’t decide. Tell me what you see. 🙂
An interesting grayish topped mushroom! Sorta reminds me of a crusty bread gone bad. 😉
Of course the fallen trees let my imagination run amuck. Could it be the lost long nosed creature still lurks in the deep forest?
A front view so you can look down the throat of the beast!
My what a big snout you have!
The green eyed monster. However it was much too happy to be called a monster. LOL.
So what did the jumping spider see? It was munching on what I thought might be the exuvia.
I see a fish with a huge open mouth swimming upwards.
Crazy antics by all those snakes feining death – quite the repertoire of methods.
You certainly got the rain- 1.3″ here.
I see a prairie chicken. And playing with hognose snakes is so much fun. They hang their jaw open with tongue hanging out. They flip on their back and won’t stay turned upright. Just turn back over onto their backs. Fun.
What a great day!!
Definitely!

Hard to believe we got more than you. ☺️

I believe you you nailed it 😀
