This weather just makes you want to get outside right? So yesterday’s beautiful cool morning pulled me out to one of my favorite units on the LBJ Grasslands!
Walking over to puddle I found the shortest Rain Lily (Zephyranthes chlorosolen ) that I have ever seen.
My goodness it was only about two and half inches tall!
The False Gaura (Oenothera glaucifolia syn Stenosiphon linifolius ) was shining like white flames on the prairie!
A few Two-leaf Sennas (Senna roemeriana ) were blooming as well.
A Robberfly blending in with the gravel and debris.
A Darkling Beetle scurried quickly by.
We stopped to check the Black Dalea (Dalea frutescens ) for Thurber’s Pilostyles (Pilostyles thurberi ). None today. 🙁
However a closer look at the flowers is moment to savor.
Part two of the a morning outing tomorrow.

Keep looking!
The more you know, the more you see and the more you see, the more you know
I always think false guara really looks like snow. So pretty.
That rain lily is adorable!
