White pollen on the Bumble Bee!
Was Western Leaf-footed Bug (Leptoglossus clypealis ) stuck on the Texas Thistle (Cirsium texanum )?
Nope! The resin on the phyllaries was not sticky yet.
At first I didn’t think I was going to get a photo of the Pale Bordered Field Cockroach (Pseudomops septentrionalis ) on a willow tree. Then it crawled on my finger. Success! Also the Pale Bordered Field Cockroach only lives outside. So you can admire when you see one!
A tiny spider snared a Laboratory Fruit Fly (Drosophila melanogaster -tentatively). If this is the species, they have a job with NASA.
Definitely always fun to watch the locomotion of a caterpillar’s walk! Here the Hackberry Emperor most likely was hunting for a place to pupate. It was on an Post Oak.
Hope y’all saw some good nature today as well! ๐
