Pleasant day eh!
The ant and the Darkling Beetle (maybe Eleodes tricostata). Both went their separate ways.

This ground beetle was making a meal of the leftover pecan. Maybe in the Pterostichus genus.

Milkweed fluff.

Gayfeather (Liatris mucronata) standing tall!

Not sure what plant this is, but the head was so interesting.
Glad it was a beautiful day there too!

Got me curious on that odd skeleton of a plant part. I see spines on the plant. That might narrow it down to a thistle family, or another spiny plant. It is neat looking!
I should have paid more attention to what was growing in that area of the pond. But alas I didn't. Maybe I will look for it next year and let you know… 🙂
