Easy shots
This cool and cloudy day meant the insects were not moving much so easy shots.

American Bumble Bee (Bombus pensylvanicus) was right where I left it when I returned four hours later.

And again it was still on the gayfeather at 3pm.

Harvestman (Leiobunum vittatum) was cooperative as well.

Pearl Crescent (Phycoides tharos)

Common Meadow Katydid (Orchelimum vulgare). Love its red eyes!

Bagworm on a Bur Oak.
Ok I know it would not have moved even if it was sunny and warm 😉

Gayfeather (Liatris mucronata) almost finished for the season.

This was the most exciting shot for me today of the Southern Yellowjacket (Vespula squamosa). It was my first encounter of one…yeah!
Yippee for the cool day!
Keep looking!
Did I tell you that we have a different bumblebee species down here? It is the Sonoran Bumblebee.
