Not Doing Tiny

You know a few degrees really does make a difference. So you can be sure I love the cooler 90 degrees high!

Today I stopped again at the Western Ironweed (Vernonia baldwinii). Would the same friends be there again today?

The unopen flowers!
The American Bumble Bee (Bombus pensylvanicus) had returned!
Some these cats were still there. But not as many. Perhaps the time of day I looked.
Another fuzzy cat was yellow. So now I wonder if they might not be early instars of the Salt Marsh Caterpillars. Generally I only collect a cat when I think it will pupate soon.
The Greeneyes (Berlandiera betonicifolia) are really happy this year! So I am unsure if this one is just starting or fixin’ to go to seed.
Some of them are going to seed!
Tucked down in the leaves was this little bundle. Hmmm, I wonder what it might become. Well, I don’t know and I didn’t collect it. It was pretty tiny so that would have made it very hard to ID. That was my excuse. And I’m sticking with it. 😉

Tiny or not, tis fun to look!
