On Point

Beautiful day and not so hot today. Loved it. The six legged friends were out too.

A tiny hopper!
Crab spider on the Roadside Gaura (Oenothera suffulta). Ok, I snuck an eight legged friend. 😉
This friend, a Chalcidoid Wasp (Leucospis affinis) has no common name. Most in this family are parasitoids of aculeate Hymenoptera (mainly solitary bees, less frequently solitary wasps, e.g. Vespidae and Sphecidae). Notice their oviposition is bent back onto their back!

A Fruit Fly (Tephritidae). What green eyes you have little friend!
The shiny Dark Flower Scarab (Euphoria sepulcralis) presumably take pollen and nectar.
Today the Lady Bugs were out on the town. ;-). This is a Seven-spotted Lady Beetle (Coccinella septempunctata).
More babies soon for this couple of Convergent Lady Beetle (Hippodamia convergens)!

On point! Seemed a bit tricky to me. LOL.

Glad to see our six legged friends were doing their thang!

  1. So many new critters out now – the inch worms are hanging from all the trees here after consuming many leaves. And the green beetles are back.
That wasp ovipositor location is so surprising – would have never guessed.
