Yesterday I left you on the Anadarche Creek Trail.
And even though it was the same path, one can always see more!
Like this silvery moss!
After the trail we went down another road. Our gas tank was almost empty. And on the way back we stopped at the Johnson Memorial Bridge, another CCC project.
Those were some big blocks. And notice at the highway level there are no guard rails. Yikes!
The next day Claire and Briar joined us. As you can see we were getting rain. It was pretty sloppy.
Between showers we did manage a short walk down a trail near camp. Claire took a shot of Pebble Pixie Cups.
We got almost two inches overnight!
Since it was so muddy we took Claire and Briar to see Tucker Tower. Yep well behaved dogs allowed.
The tower could use some serious repairs!
Claire and Briar headed home. And when she left we found the earthworms that taken cover under her car.
The rain definitely slow us down. So we look forward to going back to explore further.
Definitely a great trip!
So I did not wake up last night for the Blood Moon. Instead I saw it before it sunk below the horizon at 6am. Furthermore I think it’s a good thing to sleep. 🙂
However Jeanne happened to wake up. She captured this cool shot of the Blood Moon just before 2am!
Wow that rain is wonderful. I can’t even remember the last time we had enough rain to make a puddle.
That is a great park. It’s been many years since i was there.
I did get up at 1:15am. I was so groggy I had trouble looking up at the moon without falling over. I got a shot before 2am but did not capture that beautiful color. We had some thin clouds that might have obscured the color, but did get a nice crescent of light just before it was gone. But the worst part, besides lack of sleep, was going back out 10 minutes after I took pictures. Right where I sat on the porch to take a picture was a scorpion. So the next 20 minutes I kept freaking out that I had scorpions crawling on me.
I wanted to get up and see the eclipse too, but decided I needed sleep more. We have another chance next year… I hate to see the tower’s roof is leaking. Gorgeous bridge!
Not only did that last day look wet, it looked very very cold! Sure would be nice to have a bit of rain here to settle all the dust flying around today!
There’s some really pretty stone work there. That tower is gorgeous. Claire and Briar didn’t seem to mind the rain
