Back to winter like, eh. Well I didn’t go out to the grasslands today. I had home chores. So these pics are from the sunny day outing. 🙂
Every so often I run across these porcelain canning lids from the 1900’s or earlier. Furthermore these are artifacts that are not to be removed from the grasslands. I found this site on Boyd’s Porcelain Lined Canning Jar Lid that you might find interesting.
The veins of a Greenbriar leaf!
The Groundsel (Packera obovata) leaves have popped up now. The purple underside is very distinctive!
As I was ducking away from a branch I put my hand on the bank. Then I saw them before I interrupted their sleep.
Their rear end was partially nestled under the moss!
A top view!
Head on!
Then I removed the leaf in front. And they never even blinked the whole time I was shooting my pics! Rest well my friend!
That Zpif’s Law is really interesting and how they surmise how babies learn language.
It was a very cooperative leopard frog – wonder if it is still there?
Oh goody. A leopard frog. I haven’t seen a glass lid in years. Treasure.
😊

It would be interesting to see or will it get eaten out in the open???
Leopard frogs are delightful neighbors! We have at least one that lives in veggie beds in the summer.
Are they buried more?
